Supercritical Ethanol Drying System

Model: SFS-ES

The proposed SFS-ES is a high-temperature drying system for ethanol-wet gels and porous materials that tolerate the required thermal exposure. It combines a metal drying vessel, insulated heating, controlled fluid removal and closed solvent recovery. Unlike CO₂ drying after solvent exchange, this concept uses ethanol itself as the supercritical medium. It is intended for material-development studies in which drying shrinkage, structure retention and chemical changes are evaluated experimentally.

Product Features

6 FEATURES

Non-stirred metal drying vessel and removable basket; mechanically retained head; insulated split furnace and heat shield; sample-zone and wall temperature measurement; pressure sensing and independent protective devices; closed solvent loading/drain interfaces; inerting and extraction interfaces; controlled discharge train; condenser, closed metal receiver and level monitoring; segregated PLC/HMI electrical module; cold-access lifting provision in concept B.

Direct Ethanol Route

Designed around high-temperature ethanol service rather than reusing a low-temperature CO₂ dryer specification.

Insulated Process Chamber

The heater, hot vessel and metallic heat shield are separated from routine touch surfaces.

Closed Solvent Recovery

A condenser and metal receiver are integrated with level and cooling-status monitoring.

Sample Basket Access

A removable basket supports small monoliths; expansion, drainage and circulation clearances remain part of fixture design.

Separated Controls

The operator interface is physically separated from the heated solvent compartment; final electrical protection follows the installation assessment.

Process and Quality Records

Batch records can be paired with before/after mass, dimensions and microscopy; the instrument does not directly certify pore preservation.
